A community home based care group was formed in 2019 in the Dora Village to assist people affected and infected by the HIV / Aids pandemic. The rise in the HIV/Aids cases in Dora was being caused by gold-mining activities which fuelled the anti-social behavior of prostitution which led a high number of people to be infected by HIV / Aids pandemic. Many children were left without parents and this lead to also a high number of people on Home based care and also orphan and vulnerable children. Many children dropped out of school and lacked food. Touched by the plight of these children the home based care group developed into the organization which is called Long Life Community Trust. The pioneer group comprised Barbara Moyochena, now late, Richard Eatwell, now Board Chairperson, and Patrick Kamusasa, who is currently the Project Manager.
